The members of the CAVV are appointed by royal decree on the basis of their broad and current expertise in the field of international law, on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (pursuant to section 12, subsection 1 of the Advisory Bodies Framework Act).
The members of the CAVV appoint a chairperson and vice chairperson.
